IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR INTERNATIONAL ENTRANTS: We are delighted to receive so many marmalade entries from all over the world, and are very grateful to everyone who enters. However, we ask that all international entrants be certain to CLEARLY MARK ALL PARCELS ‘TASTING SAMPLES ONLY, NOT FOR RESALE’ to avoid import tax duties. The Marmalade Awards cannot afford these charges, and this may mean your marmalade does not arrive for judging.
New for 2017: We are delighted to welcome software company eviivo and The Caterer magazine as sponsors of the Hotel, B&B and Restaurant category. The eviivo booking suite enables independent hotels, guest houses and B&Bs to manage all their bookings quickly and easily. It takes reservations from all the leading travel websites, then quickly confirms bookings and accepts payments: anytime, anywhere, on any device. We think that the eviivo booking suite gives our supporters who manage small hotels, guest house and B&Bs the edge in a competitive market, and we are happy to partner with them in this category.
The Caterer is the leading multimedia brand for the UK hospitality industry, providing news, views and job alerts… in print, through the UK’s most sophisticated digital platform serving the sector, and via its portfolio of awards and conferences. Their record of showcasing the best performers and most innovative thinkers is a great match for our Awards, and we are delighted to welcome them as sponsors.
If you make your own marmalade for your guests, this is the category for you to enter; if you’re not yet making your own, why ever not?
The Hotel, B&B and Restaurant category is for businesses that make their own marmalade in their kitchens, for their guests to enjoy: not only in the UK but internationally. All entries are judged by our panel of esteemed experts, and feedback is provided on every jar received. At the same time, the Awards help the marmalade lover to make an informed choice, and to locate the hotels and B&Bs they want to stay at: the ones which serve the best marmalade, as part of their outstanding offering to their guests.
This is your opportunity to get the recognition that your hotel, B&B or restaurant is due. A satisfying breakfast, freshly prepared and presented to a high standard, is what we all hope to find when we are away from home, but often the one component that does not get the attention it deserves is the marmalade served. What your guests want to find on their breakfast table is the best marmalade, and a Double Gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze Award on your jars will be a clear signal of your commitment to excellence.
