Good hotels restaurants and pubs are all available nearby. Ullswater Yacht Club offers a warm welcome and excellent facilities, including launching.

Dalemain Estates grant licences for swinging moorings in three locations on Ullswater:

  • Eusemere (near Pooley Bridge and the Park Foot campsite)
  • Gale Bay (just north of Waterside House campsite)
  • Sharrow Bay (near to the Sharrow Bay Hotel).

2009 Mooring Licence Fees

Eusemere      £362.00 plus VAT = £416.30 Spaces Available

Gale Bay       £481.00 plus VAT = £553.15 Spaces Available

Sharrow Bay  £603.00 plus VAT = £693.45 Spaces Available

The mooring tackle (the weights, chains and buoys) is the sole property and responsibility of the mooring licensees. It may be possible by private negotiation to purchase any existing tackle from the outgoing licensee. Existing tackle can be lifted and surveyed, and serviced by Mr J. Smith, an independent contractor who also lays new mooring tackle when required. The positions and numbering of the moorings are monitored by the National Park Authority.

Should you wish to proceed, please complete and return the
mooring application form to Fran Walsh at the Dalemain Estate Office, who will then contact you to advise of the positions and numbers of the vacant moorings and whether any existing tackle is available.

Further information about the Ullswater area is available from Tourist Information Centres at Glenridding and Pooley Bridge.
