There
are a variety of walks which can be started from Pooley Bridge either
immediately on foot, or after alighting from the steamer at Howtown
or Glenridding. Pooley Bridge is just two miles from Dalemain and
easily reached by car in 5 minutes.
There are also walks
which can be taken from Dalemain car park which include:
- A walk to Dacre
village and back along the estate road.
- A circular
walk via Stainton village, Dacre village and Pooley Bridge, which
provides magnificent views towards Ullswater, The Lake District fells
beyond and The Pennines to the east.
- A walk from
the Dalemain car park along the River Eamont to Pooley Bridge and
back.
