If you don't have much time to spend here, then why not just call in for lunch or coffee? One of the many great things about Dalemain is our proximity to several major transport routes. Combined with plenty of free parking and free entry to the licensed restaurant and tearoom in the Mediaeval hall, this makes us a very welcome and alternative break for journeys to or from Scotland. A selection of delicious group menus is available.

Dalemain is just five minutes' drive from the M6 and the A66 and only 10 minutes from the A6 and the West Coast mainline.

With such a delightful, tranquil setting only minutes from your journey, why not come and have a well-deserved rest from the road? Here, you can take it easy and enjoy a drink or a meal beside the enormous log fire in the mediaeval Old Hall, and groups can pre-book their meals, so that you can be assured your food will be waiting for you on arrival.

When you arrive at Dalemain, your pre-booked party will be given a welcome and a brief orientation talk, before being introduced to your house guides, if you are to have a guided tour, or simply allowed to explore the Mansion house and the delightful Gardens at your own pace.

Our special group rates include a guided tour of the House with one of our very experienced house guides.
Guided tours of the Gardens may also be arranged for an additional charge. These are particularly enjoyed by the many specialist gardening groups that visit Dalemain each year.
