Considered by many to be the loveliest lake in England, Ullswater offers excellent sailing, quiet anchorages, and fell & low-level walks amongst spectacular scenery. Good hotels restaurants and pubs are all available nearby. Ullswater Yacht Club offers a warm welcome and excellent facilities, including launching.
Dalemain Estates grant licenses for moorings in three locations on Ullswater, namely Eusemere (near Pooley Bridge), Gale Bay (between Eusemere and the Waterside camp site), and Sharrow Bay (between the Hotel and Ravencragg).
The fees for the swinging moorings for the 2015 season are as follows:
Eusemere - £382.50 plus 20% VAT = £459.00
Gale Bay - £507.50 plus 20% VAT = £609.00
Sharrow Bay - £632.50 plus 20% VAT = £759.00
This year we are offering a 15% discount for all mooring licence applications received by 31 March. You will now also be given the opportunity to spread the cost of your licence fee and we are also offering different ways to pay. Please refer to the Payment Options form giving details of all fees and ways to pay, all you have to do is complete and sign the form and return it to us together with your cheques if applicable and your application form and a copy of your Third Party Insurance Certificate should you wish to proceed with an application.
The mooring tackle (i.e. the weights, chains and buoys) is the sole property and responsibility of the mooring licensees. The positions and numbering of the moorings are monitored by the National Park Authority. It may be possible by private negotiation to purchase any existing tackle from the outgoing licensee. Existing tackle can be lifted and surveyed, and serviced by Mr J. Smith, an independent contractor who also lays new mooring tackle when required. The positions and numbering of the moorings are monitored by the National Park Authority.
Should you wish to proceed, please complete and return the mooring application form to Jen Little at the Dalemain Estate Office, who will then contact you to advise of the positions and numbers of the vacant moorings and whether any existing tackle is available.
