Walks around Dalemain & Ullswater

There are a variety of walks which can be started from Pooley Bridge either immediately on foot, or after alighting from the steamer at Howtown or Glenridding. Pooley Bridge is just two miles from Dalemain and easily reached by car in 5 minutes.

There are also walks which can be taken from Dalemain car park which include:

  • A walk to Dacre village and back along the estate road.
  • A circular walk via Stainton village, Dacre village and Pooley Bridge, which provides magnificent views towards Ullswater, The Lake District fells beyond and The Pennines to the east.
  • A walk from the Dalemain car park along the River Eamont to Pooley Bridge and back.

Details can be found in various publications and Ordnance Survey maps.
