The Mediaeval Hall Tearoom, Gift Shop with Antiques & Plant Sales

With FREE parking and access to the Tearoom, Gift Shop, plant sales and courtyard, there are numerous reasons to visit Dalemain. Why not just pop in?

  • Sunday to Thursday from 10:30am to 5:00pm (April-September) 4:00pm in October
  • Sunday to Thursday from 11:00am to 3:00pm (November-March)
  • Closed Christmas and January

Soak up the feeling of days gone by sitting by the large open log fire in the original Mediaeval Hall which houses the Daelmain Tearoom. Try a delicious selection of hot and cold homemade food, speciality coffees using Farrer's coffees from Kendal, our freshly baked scones are worth a try, as is the famous Dalemain chocolate cake!

Also on display in the Tearoom and Gift Shop are the Double Gold and Gold Winners Marmalades from this year's 'World's Original Marmalade Awards' which are all for sale. Look out for the selection of enchanting and original Dalemain Marmalade's exclusively available for you to buy at Dalemain and Fortnum and Mason, London.

Be sure not to miss seasonal bargains from our Plant Stall which also contains a lovely selection of plants from the garden on sale too! 

The Dacre Walk begins from Dalemain Courtyard and ends at the beautiful 12th Century, Grade I listed church at Dacre. Guarded by bears at the four corners and containing a cross legged crusader, it is the ideal way to spend a sunny afternoon, or perhaps to end a rainy one with a steaming cup of tea and a well earned piece of cake in the Dalemain Tearoom.

Treat yourself and take away our homemade frozen food. Simply defrost and serve any one of our various recipes perfected over the last 25 years. All the meals are home cooked and then quickly frozen to preserve the freshness and flavour. 
We can also provide catering for special events such as birthday parties, small conferences, or Christmas lunches. Please enquire for further details if you are planning an event.
