FAQs section – here are answers to some of the most frequent questions we get at Dalemain:

 

Q. Are dogs allowed in the historic gardens?

A. Dogs are not permitted in the historic gardens or mansion, however they are welcome in the corner barn tearoom, courtyard and on the estate walk to Dacre.

 

Q. Are the Gardens and Tearoom open on Saturdays?

A. As Dalemain is a family home, this is their private day, and the estate is never open on a Saturday unless it is for a special event.

 

Q. What are your opening times?

A. The gardens, tearoom and shop are open Sunday – Friday, 10.30am – 4pm. The mansion will be open for guided tours from 29th July.

 

Q. When will the mansion reopen?

A. The Mansion will reopen on Thursday 29th July, for guided tours. Tours will be available Mon – Thurs at 11am, 12pm and 1.30pm, and on Sundays at 10.45am and 11.45am. Tours should be pre-booked and you can book your tickets HERE.

 

Q. Are you a member of any Heritage/discount groups?

A. Yes, we are a member of Historic Houses, and offer free entry to all members. We are also an RHS partner gardens, and offer free entry at various times of the year to RHS members.

 

Q. Do I need to pre-book to visit the gardens?

A. You are welcome to pre-book if you wish, and can purchase tickets here: https://www.dalemain.com/tickets/ however, we are also happy to take walk ins, and you can pay for a ticket on arrival.

 

Q. Are you child friendly?

A. Yes! Children go free to the Historic Gardens, and should keep an eye out for our sleeping giantess, topiary dragon and special children’s garden.
