On the Fourth Day of Marmalade – Gifts!
There are now just over two weeks until Santa comes, and if you’re anything like us, it can be tricky to find everybody the perfect present. Obviously, we’re of the opinion that the best possible gift anyone can receive is a delicious, Award winning marmalade, and when it comes to finding the perfect pot, we just might have some suggestions…
Proper Artisan marmalade is special in a way that mass-produced spreads never can be. With some especially inventive winning flavours in 2016, they’re an example of just how magical marmalade can be when the producers have the freedom and imagination to create true works of art:
Seville Orange Aperol Marmalade http://www.theartisankitchen.co.uk/shop/4577291048/seville-orange-marmalade-italian-orange-bitters/10579914
Seville Orange & Beetroot Marmalade https://www.fortnumandmason.com/products/dalemain-2016-orange-beetroot-marmalade?taxon_id=842
The Fabulous Fortnum & Mason stock a wonderful selection of the winning marmalades, so if you’re in Piccadilly this Christmas make sure you stop in and peruse their section. After all, if they’re including marmalade in their gorgeous and world – renowned Christmas hampers, then it must be an official part of Christmas.
And if you’re looking to buy a Christmas present that really makes a difference, it has to be Jo Aldhouse’s Seville & Skye Whisky Marmalade, which won the 2016 Homemade Competition. With 50p from every jar going to support Hospice Care, we’re very proud here at Dalemain to be championing these special jars as the ultimate Christmas present.
Now naturally, the Awards are about a lot more than just shop brought marmalade – the best marmalade that you can ever give anyone is definitely still the one you’ve made yourself. There’s a reason we ask for you to get your preserving pans out every year, and as we said in our last blog there’s nothing like making marmalade with your family and friends – so if none of the above suggestions sounds like your spoon of marmalade, you know what to do. Get creating, get cooking and serve up your pots with love this Christmas.
(Leaving aside a jar to enter in our competition. Naturally.)
