We wanted to provide an update regarding the Marmalade Festival, given concerns about the existence of COVID-19 (coronavirus) both in the UK and abroad.

At present the Festival will go ahead as planned on both 14th & 15th March. The current Government advice does not recommend the cancellation of events, but suggests that people should follow advice from Public Health England regarding thorough hand washing. If the advice changes, then we will notify visitors at the earliest possible opportunity.

There will be a limited and controlled opportunity to taste marmalade, and hand sanitisers will be in place throughout the Festival alongside hand washing locations.

We will be running a Park-and-Ride, as owing to the weather we are unable to offer onsite parking. This parking is a 2-minute drive from Dalemain, in the PF&K auction mart. We ask drivers to please drop their passengers at Dalemain before parking. There will be clear signage on arrival.

We very much hope to welcome you all to Dalemain for a weekend of marmalade magic!

Now that the Marmalade competition has closed, we’re looking forward to the Festival on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March, where the winners will be revealed – culminating, of course, in the announcement of the 2020 Double Gold Best in Show Award!

As well as the Awards reception, which takes place at 10am in the central marquee, the Festival will be an array of all things orange. There will be talks, lectures, cookery demonstrations, juggling workshops, a human fruit machine, a marmalade cat contest and much more! Come and taste over 1000 marmalades, have a go on a juice making bicycle, learn how to make the perfect lemon marmalade and try the finest selection of citrus gin and sake. We have a range of fascinating talks covering the adventures of the lemon merchants, orange growing in Afghanistan, citrus sake, Japanese citrus aromatherapy and much more!
