We are delighted to announce the return on our annual Plant Fair on Sunday 20th June!

Enjoy a great day out in 2021 at the Dalemain Plant Fair, celebrating all things gardening in the beautiful surroundings of Dalemain Mansion & its award-winning Historic Gardens.

The Plant Stalls

The Fair will take place from 10am – 4pm and we have a hand-picked selection of the best nurseries in the North of England ready with their finest plants. From rhododendrons to roses, dahlias to drought-loving plants, there will be something for everyone, and we can’t wait to share them with you. As well as the nurseries on the front lawn, we will also have a range of quality Artisan stalls, with beeswax candles, cheeses, metalwork, oils and vinegars, pottery and much more!

The Marmalade

On top of this, the Plant Fair will be ‘going orange’ this year, to incorporate the Marmalade Award ceremonies. These will take place at the front of the mansion at 11.45am. This will be a seated event, in line with government regulations. We hope that people will enjoy seeing the grand winner for 2021 unveiled. It’s a very special marmalade this year.

The marmalade activities continue with a huge array of the world’s best marmalades for sale on the front lawn. This includes jars from Japan, Germany and the Czech Republic. We are asking all visitors to please BRING CASH for this stall. There will also be Marmalade Question Times, for those looking for advice from the experts, and a marmalade display of this year’s best jars. Paddington Bear will be in attendance, and is looking forward to tasting all the winners!

The Gardens

As well as a fantastic range of nurseries, we are also offering discounted entry to the Historic Gardens across the whole day. This ticket also entitles you to a Garden Tour with the Dalemain head gardener. She will be happy to tell visitors all about the changes taking place in the gardens, and the highlights in June.

The Refreshments

The Corner Barn Tearoom will be open and serving hot and cold lunches, and there will be cream teas, cakes and drinks available on the front lawn and in the grove.

The perfect family day out – and the ideal trip for Father’s Day!

Please download the NHS Track & Trace app, as we will be collecting details on arrival. Please also bring a mask, for entering the tearoom and toilets.

Entry to the Fair is FREE; discounted entry is offered on the day – Gardens £5, Garden tours free with a garden ticket, Children FREE

Please note that this is an outdoor event, owing to ongoing restrictions, and the house will remain CLOSED, except for a small display of marmalade in the Hall.
