Fee

There is no charge for exterior filming and interior filming of the public displays at the marmalade festival day but permission must be sought beforehand in writing from the Estate Office.

The current filming and recording facility fee for interior filming is £300 + VAT per hour, plus a supervision fee of £25 + VAT per person per hour if applicable. A deposit may be payable in advance of filming.

Filming

This information deals with requests to film at the Dalemain Mansion and gardens, Dalemain Estate (both farm land and the wider fell and moorland) and the Marmalade Awards and Festival. Filming applications must relate to The Marmalade Awards, the wider estate or the public opening of Dalemain Mansion and Gardens in order to be considered. 

All filming projects will be considered on a case by case basis.

Press Visits

Press visits to the Dalemain should be arranged via the Estate Office. Limited press tickets are available, and unfortunately we cannot provide free press tickets to all those who request them.

Press visits must be arranged with a minimum of two working days' notice by submitting a Press Visit Information Form to us by email

We have a dedicated press breakfast for the Marmalade Awards for all press coming to the festival.

Please note:

  • When requesting a press visit, please outline details of your commission or planned feature.

  • Please check the for opening dates and times before requesting a visit.

  • Once your time slot has been confirmed for mansion entry, we are unfortunately unable to change the timings due to limited space inside the house for each tour.

  • Press tickets are limited to one ticket per media outlet and we are unable to accommodate plus ones. Additional tickets can be purchased from the Book pages of the website.

  • Press photography is permitted only by previous written request. To request images for editorial use, please contact the office.

  • Presentation of a press card on arrival will not allow free entry to the Marmalade Festival or Dalemain Mansion, and it will not be possible to provide entry to those who have not arranged a press ticket in advance.
