RHS Members: FREE access to the Gardens (Feb-Apr & Aug-Dec). Gardeners World 2 for 1 garden admission (Feb-Apr & Aug-Dec). Both £7.50 per person upgrade to include Mansion Tour.
Friend of Dalemain: FREE (annual membership £37 per person / £56 joint ticket for unlimited access to the garden, mansion and so much more). Ask a member of staff for further information.
Booking in advance
Mansion Entry: Booking in advance for Mansion entry is advisable as spaces are limited and entry is by guided tour only (five tours a day). You can visit the Mansion and/or the Garden without booking in advance. Tickets can be bought on arrival.
The online system closes 8 hours before the tour BUT there are usually spaces so either call ahead or turn up.
Pay a DEPOSIT online to reserve your place on the Mansion tour of £7.50 per person (where applicable) .
The remainder of the balance is payable upon collection of your tickets from the Tearoom & Shop on the day of your visit.
Garden Entry: There is no restriction on garden entry and you do not need to book in advance.
Marmalade Festival 2026
FREE ENTRY into the festival site, 10 -4pm (Marmalade tasting, festival stalls, live marmalade judging, bell ringing, activities and more). The festival starts with the presentation of awards. See the programme of events for all the information.
Entry into the Mansion & Garden, Tickets Needed. This is so you can go into the mansion to view the Homemade Marmalade Displays which are in all of the downstairs rooms. Estimated timings: about 1 hour to view the displays and 1 hour to wander around the garden. Your Mansion ticket includes Garden Entry. Entry into the house is strictly by timed entry but you can go into the garden at any point in the day with your ticket.
Tickets into the house will be available to purchase on the day but we advise booking in advance particularly if coming with a group as capacity per timeslot is limited.
Talks by Ivan Day and Karen Jankel & the two Marmalade Question Times (MQT’s), Tickets Needed: Capacity is limited for the talks and MQT’s. Entry into the Garden Room where the talks are held is via a different entrance and you do not need a ‘Mansion and Gardens’ ticket.

PENRITH GOES ORANGE, in Penrith, FREE All Day, this is a satellite event to the Marmalade Festival at Dalemain. Businesses in the town have turned orange for the weekend offering citrussy discounts. There will be a high energy performance by Bjamba samba band in the town centre and a brass band in the bandstand will play during the day. Paddington will visit Penrith in the middle of the day with other VIP’s to judge the window display competition.
